Tourist ship operations on Teknaf-Saint Martin's Island route in Cox's Bazaar have been suspended since Wednesday (6 December) morning due to inclement weather triggered by the cyclonic storm Michaung.
Some tourists are stranded in Saint Martin's Island following the suspension of tourist ship operations, said Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer Adnan Chowdhury.
The movement suspension will remain in force until further notice.
It could not be known immediately how many tourists are stranded on the island.
According to AP, twelve people died in the downpour before Michaung made landfall along India's southeast coast on Tuesday (5 December).
