The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) will commence its operations in the much-anticipated Dhaka University and Bijoy Sarani stations from 13th of December ahead of Victory Day on December 16.
The duration of services on the Agargaon-Motijheel section will remain same.
M.A.N. Siddique, managing director of the DMTCL confirmed this development. He is scheduled to brief the reporters on Thursday (7 December) evening.
The construction works of the remaining three stations are on their way to competition and these stations may be opened in the running month.
On December 28, last year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the country's first metro rail, which opened to the public the following day.
