Metro Rail’s DU, Bijoy Sarani stations to open tomorrow

The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) will commence its operations in the much-anticipated Dhaka University and Bijoy Sarani stations to the public tomorrow Wednesday (12 December) ahead of Victory Day on December 16.

Nasir Uddin Ahmed, director (operation and maintenance) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd, told, "We have completed all the preparations to open the stations tomorrow on Wednesday (13 December) morning."

But, the schedule of services on the Agargaon-Motijheel section will remain the same. It will from 7.30 am and run till 11.30 am.

However, MRT/Rapid pass holders can get on trains as soon as 7.10 am at Uttara end and as late as 12.12 pm at the Motijheel end.

The construction works of the remaining three stations are on their way to competition and these stations may be opened in the running month.

On December 28, last year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the country's first metro rail, which opened to the public the following day.
