A fire broke out in an aluminum foil packaging factoryin Char Galgalia area of Keraniganj upazila, on the outskirts of capital Dhaka, on Friday (15 December) evening.
Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters (media cell), confirmed the matter saying that the fire erupted in the factory located on Dhaleshwari Bridge Number 1 in the Char Galgalia area around 6.38 pm.
Initially one firefighting unit rushed to the spot before four more units joined it to douse the flame, he said, adding that two more units are now on the way from several nearby stations.
The reason behind the fire and name of the organisation could not be known immediately, the FSCD officer said.
However, no casualties were reported as of filing this report around 7.45 pm.
