A written complaint has been filed in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), stating controversial statements and activities of Noakhali 1 (Chatkhil, Sonamuri) Constituency MP HM Ibrahim after getting the nomination.

It was known that during his tenure as MP, at least 120 cases were filed against Awami League leaders and workers, including harassment and torture.

There has been an allegation that the leader had closeness with Jamaat, BNP leaders, by giving them many developmental work contracts. He was also alleged of being the business partner with much wanted accused criminal Colonel Moshiur Rahman, who is directly involved in the Pilkhana murder.

It is also known that various intelligence agencies have already started investigating the complaint filed in the Prime Minister's Office.

Regarding the complaints, MP Ibrahim told The Daily Messenger, “Because of the elections, there is actually a class of people raising various complaints. The complaint is nothing but a bunch of lies.”

The complaint stated that MP Ibrahim’s supporters made controversial statement immediately after receiving the nomination. His supporters have been saying that MP Ibrahim has bought the nomination by paying 30 crore taka, and he is guaranteed to win even the election. This statement created a ruckus in the area.

It has been mentioned in the complaint that several members of MP Ibrahim's family are supporters of Jamaat, BNP, and JSD. Moreover, there is evidence that 120 false cases have been filed by the Jamaat, BNP, against the Awami League's devoted, hardworking, and incumbent leaders and activists during Ibrahim's tenure as MP.

The complaint further stated that the police harassment of party leaders and the attack on Awami League activists by Jamaat-BNP cadres fueled by it, as well as the former military secretary of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia's murder in Pilkhana in 2008, wanted accused Colonel Moshiur, who is his business partner.

It is said that H M Ibrahim took a loan of Tk 350 crore from Prime Bank Ltd. in the name of his privately owned M&H Telecom Ltd. and smuggled the entire amount to Colonel Moshiur in Dubai.

In 2008, when a warrant was issued against Colonel Moshiur in the BGB killings in Pilkhana, HM Ibrahim drove him across the Bilonia border in Feni district with his car. From there, he fled to Dubai.

It is also mentioned in the complaint that HM Ibrahim regularly smuggles huge sums of money out of the country to Colonel Moshiur in Dubai and has regular meetings with him when he goes to Dubai.

According to the complaint, he is also involved in the gold smuggling business along with Golden Monir, a close associate of the late former BNP MP Nasir Uddin Pintu. It is mentioned in the complaint that he has huge wealth in America.

In the past nine and a half years, he has completed the Tk 35 crore project of TR Kabikhar, which was blocked by the government in his constituency. He has traded nominations extensively in the UP elections.

It has been mentioned in the complaint that MP Ibrahim himself helped defeat the candidate of the Boat symbol in the UP elections in 2022.

The MP was also accused of giving construction work for Prime Minister's Priority Project Chatkhil, Sonaimuri Upazila Model Mosque construction, instead of giving it to Sohel Bhuiyan, a cadre of Juba Dal, through M/s Sabbir Enterprises for a 5 percent commission instead of giving it to his own party's contractors.

The complaint also stated that he appointed workers from Jamaat Shibir parties in exchange for 40 to 45 lakh taka.

In the 2008 National Assembly elections, the Grand Alliance candidate, Democratic Party President Nurul Islam, and his son, Islam Tamohar (Puchi), were burned to death, and the drug dealer from his constituency formed a private terrorist force with former BNP cadres and tortured party leaders and activists to maintain his dominance in the area.

They occupied the lands of minority communities. Currently, the murder case is ongoing in court.

Ibrahim MP was accused of being involved in the murder of Nurul Islam's family.

Ibrahim MP's brother, Md. Hasan is the former Deputy Commissioner (Chattogram), against whom there are many allegations of corruption and who has been accused of embezzling 7 thousand crore taka.

He was also allegedly involved in many unethical acts and was arrested by joint forces during the caretaker government for corruption.

Also, his other brother, Md. Belal, who looks after several gold shops owned by HM Ibrahim in Baitul Mukarram, is also accused of involvement in gold smuggling.

It is mentioned in the complaint that former Chhatra League leader of Khilpara Union Salauddin Suman made a torture cell with the help of MP, where Awami League party leaders were subjected to inhuman torture.

On December 29, 2022, Salahuddin Sumon's activists kidnapped the president of Ward No. 1 of Khilpara Union, Golam Mostafa, from his house and tortured him inhumanely. Currently, the victim is a crippled. Hundreds of people were captured and tortured in that torture cell.
