Election Commissioner Md Anisur Rahman on Sunday (24 December) said, there is no foreign pressure ahead of the national election.

After a special meeting with the candidates and election-related officials of the five Sunamganj parliamentary seats, he made this statement while speaking with reporters.

"A large number of observers are traveling from various countries this time. We granted the request of individuals from embassies and organizations to prolong the enlistment period. He stated, "They have now sent the list (of observers)."

"After reviewing this list, it will be sent to the home and foreign ministries," he added.

"Over 2,000 applications for local observers have been received, and they are being verified," he added.

Anisur said regarding the law-and-order situation, "There is no chance of the law-and-order situation deteriorating before or after the election." All levels of law enforcement are on high alert."
