Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday said while there are conspiracies, she would not bow down to any conspiracy or any person. She said this while attending the Awami Leagues’s electoral campaign rally held in the field of Govt Rajendra College in Faridpur.
The premier said, "In 2001, I was prevented from taking office because I refused to sell the country's gas to foreigners, unlike Khaleda Zia, who ascended to power by endorsing a deal to sell it."
The prime minister added, "The work for Bangladesh's graduation to a developing country needs to be continued," in an attempt to win over the people of Faridpur to the "boat" cause. And the only way this mission can be completed is if the Awami League's electoral emblem, "boat," wins."
Faridpur district Awami League President Shamim Haque presided the meeting. While its General Secretary Shah Md Ishtiaque Arif moderated the programme.
Other speakers at the rally included Awami League presidium member Md Abdur Rahman, Cricketer Shakib Al Hasan, Saifuzzaman Shekhor, Mayor Amitabh Bos, and various local leaders.
