Nasrul Hamid, the State Minister for Power, has also been appointed to oversee the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain confirmed that a gazette notification was published regarding the appointment on Monday (15 January).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's new cabinet was sworn in on January 11.
Nasrul Hamid was appointed as the state minister for Power Division in the new cabinet. On Monday, he was also granted responsibility for the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina always leads the power energy and mineral resources ministry. Therefore, a state minister is appointed to assist in the management of the ministry.
