Blankets distributed among distressed members of Telegu community

Bangladesh Jubo Shanti Sangha and social organization National Friendship Society (NFS) has distributed blankets to more than 300 families of the Telugu community all of whom are cleaners by profession.

The blankets were distributed among the distressed cleaning workers in the joint initiative of these two social organizations on Monday (Jan 22) afternoon.

The program was presided by Israfil Sheikh, president of Bangladesh Jubo Shanti Sangh and hosted by Rahat Hossain, president of social organization National Friendship Society. Gazi Sarwar Hossain Babu, organizing Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo League was present as the chief guest in the program.

Chief guest Gazi Sarwar Hossain Babu said, “Awami League President Sheikh Hasina is constructing a modern residence for the cleaners. And also providing various opportunities. The importance of cleaning profession is immense in building a smart Bangladesh. Leaders and activists of Jubo League under the leadership of Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil will stand by you.”

Rahat Hossain, the president of social organization National Friendship Society said, “During the Awami League government, cleaners are getting the most facilities. They were deprived of state benefits during other governments. Especially the Telugu community. During the tenure of the present government, 50 people from Telugu language group got jobs in Dhaka South City Corporation. The social organization National Friendship Society (NFS) will stand by the Telugu community for peace and harmony and development.”
