Dhaka residents faced a shivering cold period, with Monday's lowest temperature dropping to 12.3 degrees Celsius, this winter’s lowest in the capital.
After a little increase, temperatures in Bangladesh are falling again, resulting in foggy conditions in Dhaka and other areas even throughout the day.
Notably, the lowest temperature recorded in Dhaka on Sunday was 14.4 degrees.
In the Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, a mild cold wave is impacting numerous areas, with 16 districts reporting temperatures below 10 degrees.
The severe weather is creating hardship in the city and elsewhere, particularly for those with modest incomes.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department forecast a potential further drop of 1 to 2 degrees in Dhaka's night-time temperature.
When the temperature falls below 10 degrees Celsius, the met office classifies it as a mild cold wave. As a result, if the mercury drops by two degrees, there is a likelihood of a cold wave affecting Dhaka.
