Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud has stated that the World Bank (WB) is interested in offering a new $700 million grant and soft credit to Bangladesh.

He told the media, on Tuesday (23 January), after returning from the 19th NAM conference in Uganda, "$315 million amount would be granted for Rohingya with no obligation for repayment and the remaining $385 million is being considered a soft loan."

The minister also mentioned that all of the participating nations commended Bangladesh's newly elected administration and urged joint endeavors in the NAM and South-South cooperation spirit.
