Election Commissioner Mohammad Alamgir told on Tuesday (23 January) that upazila elections are scheduled to start in stages during the final week of April and run through the final week of May.
EVMs or ballots may be used during the elections. Even elections can be conducted in tandem with an electronic voting machine or ballot," he stated.
Commissioner Alamgir was unsure of whether traditional ballot papers or electronic voting machines (EVM) will be utilized during the election process.
He declared, "Electoral machines or ballots may be used. We are weighing our alternatives, and a combination of ballot and electronic voting may be used to make the decision."
