The Election Commission (EC) has announced the schedule for 344 upazilas elections of the country's six regions. Voting will be held in four phases.
This information was given by the officials of the election management branch of the EC.
Recently EC Secretary Jahangir Alam said in a press conference that the first phase of voting will be held on May 4, the second phase on May 11, the third phase on May 18, and the fourth phase on May 25.
According to EC, voting will be held in 108 upazilas in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Dhaka and Mymensingh regions while 121 upazilas in the second phase, 77 upazilas in the third phase and 38 upazilas in the fourth phase.
Besides, the list of upazilas of Sylhet and Chattogram region will be published later. Among the 495 upazilas in the country, there are 452 upazilas suitable for elections.
