World Youth festival Commences in Russia, Welcoming 95 Youth Leaders from Bangladesh

The World Youth Festival or the World Youth Festival will be held in the Sirius Federal Territory (Sochi), Russia from March 1 to 7. The festival will be held in Russia in 2024 in accordance with Russian President Vladimir Putin's order to increase international youth cooperation. And Bangladesh is not lagging behind in this event.

In continuation of the long-standing friendly relations between Bangladesh and Russia, 95 young men and women will be representing their country in the world forum this time. They will also showcase Bangladesh to the world in a new light through new ideas. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to see and know the unique country of Russia, its history, tradition, and culture up close.

The World Youth Festival Bangladesh National Preparatory Committee announced the information at a press conference in Chattogram on Saturday (February 24). The press conference, held at the Chattogram Press Club, was attended by Ashik Imran, Consul of the Russian Embassy in Chattogram, Tareq Mahmud, Chairman of the Bangladesh Preparatory Committee of the World Youth Festival Russia, and Zia Uddin Haider, General Secretary.

They said that through this event, Bangladesh will be able to showcase its history, tradition, and culture to 180 countries of the world. We hope that the young men and women of Bangladesh will participate in this festival in the highest way and increase the dignity of Bangladesh in the world forum. 20,000 youth leaders from the world are participating in the event and 95 from Bangladesh are among them.

Youth representatives from different parts of the world will participate in this festival and share their culture, tradition, and experience. The 95 young men and women of Bangladesh will participate in various workshops, discussion meetings, cultural events, and sports. They will showcase Bangladesh's culture, tradition, and rich history to the world. Besides, after the main event, some participants will get the opportunity to participate in the Regional Program as part of the festival. In this program, they will get the opportunity to stay in 30 different cities of Russia for one week. As a result, they will be able to know about the Russian culture by meeting the world leaders and will be able to use the experience gained from there by returning to their own country.

The speakers said that Russia has already made a lot of preparations for this grand festival. Russia has kept various surprises for the participants of the festival. These surprises include an exhibition of cultural diversity, showcasing traditional food, clothing, and culture of different regions of Russia; an exhibition of science and technology, organizing various sports competitions and cultural events; workshops and discussion meetings on various topics. Besides, showcasing the culture and tradition of Russia to the world and working for world peace and prosperity is one of the main goals of this festival.

A stall has already been taken for Bangladesh at the venue of this festival. Bangladesh will be represented in the world forum from this stall. From here, Bangladesh's tourism sector, folk art, handicrafts, pottery, and various traditional clothes, sweets, and food will be displayed. Besides, there will be attractive leaflets and various souvenirs on the subject.

They said that the training of 300 guides for the World Youth Festival 2024 has started in Sirius (Sochi). These guides will welcome 10,000 foreign and 10,000 Russian participants from 180 countries to the festival. They will also showcase the potential, success, and cultural characteristics of Russia to the young people participating in the World Youth Festival through 10 thematic routes. They will introduce the guests to the history, tradition, and culture of Russia.

They also hoped that the young men and women of Bangladesh will participate in this festival in the highest way and increase the dignity of Bangladesh in the world forum.
