Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Pavel Shevtsov said, Rossotrudnichestvo is interested in increasing Russian government scholarships for Bangladeshi students.
Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo informed it in an official meeting, at the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh on Thursday (22 February) with Minister of Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury. The director of Dhaka Russian House Pavel Dvoychenkov was also present in the meeting.
Pavel Shevtsov said, Bangladesh is a country of talented people; I believe that Bangladesh will develop further in the future if it is possible to receive high-quality education, and the Russian government is always active in providing opportunities for Bangladeshi students to receive this world-class advanced education in world-famous Russian universities.
The meeting discussed increasing Russian scholarship in higher education, technical education, science and technology education and signing an agreement to ensure mutual acceptance of degrees from the two countries.
Director of Russian House in Dhaka Pavel Dvoychenkov said that since 1974 the Russian House in Dhaka has been providing all institutional support for receiving Russian government scholarships for higher education in Russia in Bangladesh, as well as conducting Russian language education programs. Aspiration of Bengali students to pursue higher education in Russia has risen and amount of scholarship from our side gradually will be increased.
Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury welcomed Pavel Shevtsov in Russian. He said that any Russian proposal regarding education is welcome. He respectfully recalled the humanitarian assistance of the Soviet Union during the Bangladesh Liberation War and expressed gratitude to the Russian government for the overall development of war-torn Bangladesh by providing free higher education to Bengali students in various sectors and engaging them in the reconstruction of the country.
