Motwalli of Baghdad Sharif of Iraq Hazrat Sheikh Khalid Abdul Quader Monsoor Al Jilani (R) on Sunday invited Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to visit the shrine of Boro Pir Abdul Quader Jilani (R).
He gave the invitation while paying a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office in Sangsad Bhaban on Sunday (3 March).
PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Noorelahi Mina briefed the reporters after the call on.
He said that Motwalli of Bagdad Sharif of Iraq Hazrat Sheikh Khalid Abdul Quader Monsoor Al Jilani (R) said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman visited the Shrine of Abdul Quader Jilani (R) in 1974 during his visit in Iraq.
He presented a photograph of Jalipaak and a gilaf of the Shrine to the Prime Minister.
He mentioned that the relations between Bangladesh and Iraq are friendly and people of Bangladesh respect Boro Pir a lot.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that after the devastating Nimtoli fire incident, she adopted two Shia girls and arranged marriage ceremonies like her daughters.
She also thanked Motwalli of Bagdad Sharif of Iraq Hazrat Sheikh Khalid Abdul Quader Monsoor Al Jilani (R) for coming to Bangladesh.
Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Kazi Keramat Ali, PMO Secretary Mohammad Salauddin, former member of parliament Qurayeshi, Anjuman Kaderiya Bangladesh President Md. Mahbub Ul Alam, Treasurer Syed Mamnoon Quader and its member Ziaul Jamal Abu Swaeed Siddiqui, among others, were present.
