The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has strongly condemned online harassment of Bangladeshi journalist Mushfiqul Fazal living in the United States.
“CPJ condemns the online harassment campaign targeting US based journalist Mushfiqul Fazal after he posed questions to US state department’s spokesperson Matthew Miller and UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric regarding the recent crackdown on political opposition,” reads a statement by CPJ Asia posted on X (formerly known as twitter).
Journalists must be able to do their jobs free of reprisal and intimidation, it added.
According to Mushfiqul’s LinkedIn and X handle, he serves as the executive editor at South Asia Perspectives, the executive director at Right to Freedom, and works as the White House correspondent for Just News BD, among other positions.
