Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast rain or thundershowers in Dhaka, and five other divisions of the country in 24 hours commencing 9am on Sunday (19 May).
“Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Chattogram divisions with hails at isolated places,” said a met office bulletin.
Day temperature may fall by (1-2)°C over the eastern part and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. Night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it said.
However, mild heat wave is sweeping Gopalgonj, Rajshahi, Noakhali, Cox’s Bazar, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jashore, Satkhira, Patuakhali & Bhola districts and it may abate, according to the BMD bulletin.
Country’s highest temperature was recorded in Bagerhat’s Mongla at 38.2 degree Celsius on Saturday while the lowest temperature was in Panchagarh’s Tetulia and Nilphamari’s Dimla at 21.3 degree Celsius on Sunday.
In the meantime, the highest 90mm rainfall was recorded in Tetulia.
