Light to moderate rains likely across the country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted light to moderate rains or thundershowers across the country in 24 hours commencing 9 am on Monday (10 June).

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at many places over Rangpur Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions,” said a Met office bulletin.

Besides, a mild heat wave is sweeping Khulna division and the districts of Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalgonj, Rajshahi and Pabna and it may continue.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.

A trough of low lies over West Bengal to Northwest Bay.
