Eid-ul-Azha, the second-largest religious festival for Muslims, is being celebrated on Sunday (16 June) in several upazilas of Dinajpur, Chandpur, Barishal, and Lalmonirhat districts, in line with Saudi Arabia.
The early celebration occurs a day before the nationwide observance of Eid in Bangladesh tomorrow.
In Dinajpur, Eid-ul-Azha prayers were held across six upazilas with the participation of several thousand Muslim devotees in the morning.
Chandpur residents in 40 villages are also celebrating Eid today with great enthusiasm and religious fervor. These villages, located in Hajiganj, Matlab North, Kachua, and Sharasti, traditionally observe Ramadan and both Eids in accordance with the Saudi Arabian and Middle Eastern countries' calendars.
In Barishal, thousands of people in Barishal Sadar, Babuganj, Hizla, and Muladi areas are celebrating Eid today, mirroring the Saudi Arabian schedule.
In Lalmonirhat, 50 families in Kaliganj upazila are observing Eid in a festive manner today.
Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are celebrating Eid-ul-Azha today.
