Dhaka University (DU) students moved out after standing for an hour in Shahbagh demanding abolition of quota in government service on Tuesday (2 July). As a result, the traffic on that road has become normal.

After an hour's stay at Shahbagh demanding the cancellation of quota in gorvernment service, the move came to Dhaka University (DU).  At 4:30 pm on Tuesday, the students lifted the blockade and proceeded towards the Vice-Chancellor's office.

However, in the afternoon, students started chanting slogans while sitting at Shahbag intersection. Due to their location, traffic was blocked at Shagbagh junction, leading to closure of Farmgate-Shahbagh, Shahbagh-Paltan-Moghbazar Road, Shahbagh-Sciencelab Road and Shahbagh-University entrance. Common people were seen walking towards the destination. But the students made way for the movement of the ambulance.
