Chief National Commissioner of Bangladesh Scouts is Shah Kamal

The adjourned 52nd Annual (Triennial) General Meeting of the National Council of Bangladesh Scouts was held recently at Osmani Smriti Auditorium, Dhaka. 

The meeting was chaired by Bangladesh Scouts President Md. Abul Kalam Azad, MP. During the session, Md. Shah Kamal, the former Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, was elected as the Chief National Commissioner (CNC) of Bangladesh Scouts. 

He won the election by direct vote of the councillors present, defeating the former Cabinet Secretary, Kabir Bin Anwar.

Dr. Md. Shah Kamal has been involved with the Scouting movement for more than five decades, serving in various capacities from the unit level to the national level. His notable positions include Treasurer, National Commissioner (Organization, Community Development and Health), Deputy National Commissioner (Development), Group Secretary, Group President, Upazila President, District Secretary, District Commissioner, and District President.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the overall development and expansion of the scout movement across the country, Dr. Md. Shah Kamal was awarded the second-highest award of Bangladesh Scouts, the "Silver Elisha," and the highest award, the "Silver Tiger." During his tenure as Treasurer, the Accounts Department of Bangladesh Scouts achieved a 100% success rate in the GSAT evaluation by the World Scout Organization.
