Visiting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to Chinese heroes by placing a wreath at the Heroes Memorial in Tiananmen Square here on Tuesday.
After laying the wreath in the afternoon, the prime minister stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Chinese revolutionary heroes.
The national anthems of the two countries were played on the occasion, while bugle played the last post.
A smartly turned out contingent of China Armed Forces presented the state salute on the occasion.
The prime minister arrived here on Monday on a bilateral visit to China at the invitation of her Chinese Counterpart Li Qiang.
