Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim on Tuesday (30 July) said that the decision to ban the militant group Jamaat-Shibir has been taken aiming to protect the people of the country.

"They (Jamaat-Shibir) will be banned by enacting laws. If they are banned quickly, the peace will return to the country," he said while addressing a programme at Paltan Community Center here.

He attended the programme to distribute food items at the initiative of Ward Number-13 Councilor Enamul Haque Abul.

Highlighting their (Jamaat-Shibir's) brutal acts, the AL leader said that they find enjoyment in cutting veins of human-leg and killing people.

Urging all to remain vigilant against this terrorist group, he said all have to combat them with the help of the government and the progressive people.

"We all have to resist them under the leadership of pro-people leader Sheikh Hasina so that no mother loses her child again," he added.
