Protesters begin to assemble at Shahbagh

Around 10.30 am on Sunday (4 August), students and individuals from different social backgrounds started protesting by occupying Shahbagh intersection. It has stopped traffic on the roads around Shahbagh.

At this time sticks, stamps, rods have been seen seen in everyone's hands.

At that time, a group of Chhatra League was staying in Shahbagh. They took shelter in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University when the agitators chased them. From there, the Chhatra League threw bricks at the agitators. Later, when the agitators chased them, they hid in the university premises. As of writing this report, the agitators are looking for BCL members.

In addition to the non-cooperation movement, the anti-discrimination student movement platform of the quota reform activists, has called for protests and mass gatherings at important points across the country including the capital on Sunday (4 August).

The coordinators of the movement announced that the protest and mass meeting will be organized centrally at Shahbagh from 11 am. Besides, there are plans to organize demonstrations and mass gatherings in Science Lab, Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur, Technical, Mirpur 10, Rampura, Tejgaon, Farmgate, Panthpath, Jatrabari and Uttara in the capital.

Schools, colleges, universities, private universities, madrassa students, laborers, professionals, political, non-political groups are called upon to come down on the streets to make the program successful.
