The Ministry of Public Administration has declared a three-day general holiday.
The government announced this holiday through an executive order on Sunday (4 August), according to sources from the Ministry of Public Administration.
The Ministry of Home Affairs cited a curfew as the reason for this general holiday, as stated by the Ministry of Public Administration.
The general holiday has been declared from Monday to Wednesday.
Further decisions will be made based on the evolving situation.
Earlier, in the context of the ongoing anti-discrimination student movement, the government imposed an indefinite curfew starting from 6 PM on Sunday (4 August). This information was shared in a press release by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The press release stated that from 6 PM on Sunday, a curfew will be enforced in all divisional cities, city corporations, municipalities, industrial areas, district headquarters, and upazila headquarters until further notice.
