Dr. Muhammad Yunus has been sworn in as the Chief Adviser of the interim government. The oath-taking ceremony took place at 9:21 PM on Thursday, August 8, at Bangabhaban. President Md. Shahabuddin administered the oath.

Additionally, 14 advisers of the interim government led by Dr. Muhammad Yunus were also sworn in at Bangabhaban, with the President administering their oaths as well. Two other advisers, who were outside Dhaka, could not take their oaths but will be sworn in at a later date.

Before the oath-taking began, all attendees at Bangabhaban observed a one-minute silence in memory of the martyrs of the student uprising.
