Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs has informed that no notification yet issued for the appointment of an Acting Chief Justice.
On Saturday, August 10, the ministry's Public Relations Officer, Dr. Rezaul Karim, confirmed this information via brief message.
He stated, "Dear journalist friends, no notification has been issued yet for the appointment of an Acting Chief Justice. Therefore, the Ministry of Law requests everyone to refrain from spreading misleading news on this matter."
Earlier, Hasnat Abdullah, the Coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, claimed that Ashfaqul Islam had been appointed as the Acting Chief Justice.
He said, "Ashfaqul Islam is an accomplice of fascism, and students and citizens are rejecting him. Syed Refat Hossain must be appointed as the Chief Justice by 6 PM without delay."
He also called on all students and citizens in Dhaka to march to the Education Square in front of the High Court.
