After six days, traffic police officers have begun to resume their duties on some roads in Dhaka. Gradually, they will start working across all roads in the city.
On Sunday (August 11), Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Moynul Islam shared this information with journalists at the Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital.
The IGP stated, "We do not have a shortage of manpower in traffic. Traffic police officers have already started working from Intercontinental Signal to Jahangir Gate. They will gradually resume work on all roads."
He added that students, members of the BNCC, and Scouts are also present on these roads. "We are in communication with student coordinators to ensure there are no misunderstandings between students and traffic police officers," he said.
Earlier, Brigadier General (Retd.) M. Sakhawat Hossain, Adviser to the Ministry of Home Affairs in the interim government, mentioned that all students who are working on traffic management will receive certificates from the police. These certificates will be valued in their future employment opportunities.
