General Waqar-uz-Zaman, the Chief of Army Staff, stated that the military will return to their barracks once the police have reorganized and resumed their regular duties. According to the latest reports, over 90% of police stations have already started functioning, and the situation is expected to improve further. The general also expressed optimism about the country's law and order situation.

He made these remarks on Monday afternoon (12 August) while speaking to journalists at the Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.

The Army Chief urged all political parties to carry out their activities peacefully and avoid any destructive actions. He emphasized that the public's demands should be understood and met. “If everyone supports us, we will be able to restore law and order to a very normal state. Let us all work together towards this goal and lead the country towards peace and order,” he said.

He further commented that about 80% of the reports of robberies are exaggerated, with only 20% being true. The incidents of violence among the people are gradually decreasing. He noted that while political clashes have occurred in the past, which are undesirable, the situation can be normalized with collective efforts. Politics will continue, and people will speak, hold meetings, and march, but it should not turn destructive. Destructive activities are never beneficial for the country and the nation.

General Waqar-uz-Zaman also mentioned that the police have been reorganized, and legal actions will be taken against those involved in criminal activities. Once the police are fully organized, the situation will return to normal. Together, these efforts will help stabilize the country. He expressed satisfaction with the current situation in Khulna, noting that it has significantly improved.

Prior to his remarks, the Army Chief provided directives to army personnel working in the Khulna Division. He also held meetings with senior government officials, including the Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, DIG, and KMP Commissioner.
