A week-long ‘Resistance Week’ programme has begun under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. A gathering was held at the foot of the Raju Sculpture at TSC on Tuesday evening. During the event, demands were raised for the formation of a tribunal for Sheikh Hasina's trial, addressing the Awami League's alleged conspiracy against minorities, punishing those accused in the administration and judiciary, and evaluating the plight of the oppressed.

Additionally, a nationwide road march programme will be observed in memory of those who died in the anti-discrimination movement.

The protesting students say that although the autocratic Hasina has fled the country, her accomplices are still occupying important positions in the country. They are trying to destabilize the country and bring the fascist Hasina back to power. But students and the public will never allow this to happen.

“We want to say today from Dhaka University that all the bureaucrats and commission heads who are Hasina's accomplices in important positions of the country must resign immediately. Moreover, those who have been neglected and deprived of their rightful rights for a long time must be appointed to suitable positions,” they added.

Yesterday, four demands were raised at the gathering at Dhaka University: 1) A special tribunal must be formed to ensure quick trials for the massacres carried out by fascist Hasina and her party and government using the fascist structure. 2) Those who participated in the planned killings, robberies, and lootings of minorities by the Awami League and its allied Grand Alliance parties in an attempt to discredit the mass uprising must be brought to justice quickly, and the just demands of minorities must be accepted. 3) Those in the administration and judiciary who have legitimised the attacks, lawsuits, and massacres against the student-public uprising and are repeatedly trying to establish a fascist system must be removed as soon as possible, their appointments in the new government cancelled, and brought to justice. 4) Equal opportunities must be ensured as soon as possible for those who have been victims of discrimination in the administration and judiciary for so long.

Abu Baker Majumdar, coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said that their series of programmes will continue until their demands are met.

The protesters said that it has been learned that the Awami League and a section of the administration loyal to the ruling party are trying to conspire and stage a coup using minorities, centred around August 15. To counter these, they will be on the ground for at least a week before and after August 15. Especially on August 15, they will be positioned at important entry points to Dhaka like Shahbag and Malibagh. They will immediately counter any conspiracy they sense.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced a continuous 3-day programme from August 14 to August 16. The programmes include sit-ins in front of party offices and prayer and milad mahfils for those injured in recent movements. These programs were announced by BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Adv. Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a 'Harmony Rally' organised by the Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist, Christian Welfare Front in front of the National Museum in Shahbag, Dhaka on Tuesday. This rally was organised to demand an end to the conspiracy using the Hindu community.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that on August 14 and 15, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP will observe sit-in programmes in front of party offices across the country. In Dhaka, this sit-in programme will be observed in front of the party office in Naya Paltan. This sit-in programme will be observed to demand the trial of murderer Hasina and her accomplices for the genocide carried out by fascist Sheikh Hasina against students and the public.

Additionally, on August 16, on the occasion of party leader Begum Khaleda Zia's birthday, prayer and milad mahfils will be held for her long life and good health, as well as for the recovery of those who have been martyred and injured in this recent movement. On that day, people of other religions, including those of the Sanatan faith, will pray in their places of worship.
