The viva (oral examination) for candidates who passed the written examination in the general cadre of the 44th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) is set to begin on September 1. The Public Service Commission (PSC) released this schedule on Wednesday, August 14.
According to PSC sources, the viva for successful candidates in the general cadre will run from September 1 to September 19. The viva will be conducted at the PSC's main office in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Agargaon, Dhaka.
A total of 350,716 candidates applied for the 44th BCS examination. The online application process for this BCS started on December 30, 2021, and the last date for submission was initially set for January 31, but was later extended to March 2 by the PSC.
The preliminary examination was held on May 27, 2022. The PSC set a record by publishing the results within 25 days of the examination, with 15,708 candidates passing the preliminary test.
The 44th BCS notification stated that a total of 1,710 officers would be recruited across various cadres. Among them, 250 officers will be recruited in the Administration cadre, 50 in the Police cadre, 10 in the Foreign Affairs cadre, 14 in the Ansar cadre, 30 in the Audit and Accounts cadre, 11 in the Tax cadre, 8 in the Cooperative cadre, 7 in the Railway Transportation and Commercial cadre, 10 in the Information cadre, 23 in the Postal cadre, 6 in the Commerce cadre, 27 in the Family Planning cadre, 3 in the Food cadre, 485 in the Technical cadre, and 776 in the Education cadre.
