On a press briefing Hasnat Abdullah, coordinator, demanded a probe, claiming the law enforcers had shot into the movement with the intention of mass killing on Friday (16 August) at the Sheikh Hasina Burn Institute, Dhaka.
Stand with the Injured’ under the banner of the ‘Anti-Discrimination Student Movement’ He stated that, “Though the law enforcers have claimed that they used non-lethal bullets to disperse the gathering, visiting the victims it’s clear that they used weapons to orchestrate mass killings,”
Hence, Hasnat Abdullah cited the failure to provide appropriate medical treatment and the inability to build a complete database of the injured as the primary failures of the interim government.
“The interim government should have ensured a one-shot solution for the injured and the deceased in the movement. Yet we haven't even seen a complete list of deaths and wounded from the government. We haven't seen any visible steps from the government. We condemn the health department of the interim government for this failure,” Hasnat continued.
Hasnat continued further, Those in the interim government should take prompt action for the injured and the deceased, as they hold their positions as a result of their sacrifice.
However, the coordinators demanded a visible step from the government within 24 hours to ensure proper medical treatment for those injured in the movement.
The coordinators visited Mugda Medical College, National Eye Hospital, Sheikh Hasina Burn Unit, Dhaka Medical College, and medical hospitals in Dhanmondi and Uttara, according to Abdul Kader, another coordinator of the ‘Anti-Discrimination Student Movement’.
Abdul Kader also noted that some miscreants are creating anomalies in the society in the name of ‘Coordinator’ and stated that legal steps against those miscreants would be taken soon.
