Govt to cover medical expenses of injured protesters

Ministry of Health has announced that the government will bear all medical expenses for those injured in the anti-discrimination student movement. In this regard, free services will be provided in public hospitals, and private hospitals have been urged not to charge any fees.

This information was provided in a press release signed by the Secretary of the Health Services Division, Md. Jahangir Alam, on Saturday (August 17).

The press release stated that the government will bear all medical expenses, including free treatment in public hospitals, for those injured in the anti-discrimination student movement.

In addition, private medical colleges, hospitals, and clinics have been requested not to charge any fees for the treatment of students and civilians injured in the anti-discrimination student movement. If necessary, the government will cover all the bills of students receiving treatment in these private hospitals.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has already formed a committee to investigate the casualties of the anti-discrimination student movement. The committee members will meet tomorrow, Sunday, to determine their course of action, as stated in the press release.
