The resignation of the last two prosecutors, Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court Syed Rezaur Rahman (honorary) and Prosecutor Sabina Yasmin Khan Munni, has left the tribunal without any prosecutors.

According to Administrative Officer Masud Rana, prior to this, four other prosecutors had resigned, including Chief Prosecutor Syed Haider Ali, Advocate Rana Dasgupta, Advocate Zahid Imam, and Barrister Sheikh Moshfeq Kabir. The International Crimes Tribunal was established 39 years after independence to prosecute crimes against humanity, with its formal inauguration on March 25, 2010. Another tribunal, Tribunal-2, was established on March 22, 2012, but the two were merged into a single tribunal on September 15, 2015. Currently, the trial proceedings are ongoing in the sole remaining tribunal, International Crimes Tribunal-1.
