Government has terminated the contractual appointments of five officials from various institutions.
Among them are the Director General of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB), the Chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), the Chairman of Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), the Director of Bangladesh Folk and Craft Foundation, and a member of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA).
The Ministry of Public Administration issued the cancellation order on Monday (August 19).
Those affected include PIB Director General Zafar Wazed, BTRC Chairman Engineer Mohiuddin Ahmed, BCSIR Chairman Prof. Dr. Md. Aftab Ali Sheikh, Director of the Bangladesh Folk and Craft Foundation Dr. Md. Aminur Rahman, and BIWTA member Md. Rabiul Hossain.
