Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hasan has assumed the duties of Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division as of Thursday(August 22).
According to an ISPR media release, newly appointed Principal Staff Officer was awarded the Lieutenant General rank badge by Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan at the State Guest House Jamuna, in the presence of Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan was present at the time.
Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hasan was commissioned in the Corps of Infantry in the Bangladesh Army on 22 December 1989.
He has held various important positions in the army, including Commandant of the Bangladesh Military Academy, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 66th Infantry Division, and Area Commander of Rangpur Area, among others, the release also said.
