Interim government advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will address the nation this evening. The address will be broadcast simultaneously on BTV, BTV World, and BTV Chattogram.

The speech is scheduled for Sunday, August 25, at 7:30 PM. This information was confirmed by the advisor’s office earlier today.

Dr. Yunus took the oath as the Chief Advisor of the interim government on August 8 at Bangabhaban. Following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation on August 5 amid student protests, an interim government was formed to lead the country.

On August 6, the President dissolved the 12th National Parliament, and that night, a decision was made to form the interim government under Dr. Yunus’s leadership during a meeting at Bangabhaban with the President and leaders of the student movement. At that time, Dr. Yunus was in Paris.

Before assuming office, Dr. Yunus stated that maintaining law and order would be his top priority, ensuring no attacks on anyone. He expressed gratitude to the youth for their role in the revolution that led to a new victory day and pledged to move forward with their support.

On August 18, during a briefing with diplomats working in Bangladesh, Dr. Yunus discussed the need to build a new Bangladesh. He highlighted issues like corruption, the breakdown of the judiciary, the erosion of democratic rights, and election fraud. He called for everyone’s support in addressing these problems and creating a new Bangladesh.
