Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has announced the cancellation of the rest policy for Ansar personnel. Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Sunday (August 25), he said, “After discussing with the three advisers and other colleagues, we have decided that the rest policy for Ansar will be discontinued.”

Following the meeting with the adviser, the delegation members declared the suspension of their protest, stating, “The adviser was very sincere. Considering the overall situation of the country, we are suspending our protest.”

The Home Affairs Adviser added that a committee would be formed to review other demands. This committee will submit a report, and a decision will be made based on that report.

Regarding the rest policy, he explained that Ansar members are required to take a six-month rest after every three years of service, during which they live under difficult conditions. Efforts are being made to regularize their employment by eliminating this policy.

Information Adviser Nahid Islam commented, “As a committee has been formed, it will analyze and decide accordingly. We are dealing with a national crisis and need to address many issues. During this challenging time, the committee will work towards a logical solution for the Ansar personnel’s problems. However, for now, the decision to cancel the rest policy has been made.”
