A case has been filed against 4,114 Ansar members at the Paltan Model Police Station in the capital for illegally blocking roads, obstructing police duties, and other charges related to sabotage. Among those accused, 114 individuals have been specifically named.

On Monday, August 26th, Sub-Inspector Sajjad Hossain Bhuiyan of Paltan Police Station filed the lawsuit.

It has been reported that 95 Ansar members have been arrested in connection with this case, and they will be presented before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Dhaka. This information was confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge of Paltan Model Police Station.

The incident stems from a protest on Sunday, August 25th, when nearly 10,000 Ansar members besieged the Secretariat to demand the nationalization of their jobs. They held seven advisors of the interim government and other high-ranking officials of the Secretariat hostage. Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud, Director General of Ansar and VDP, arrived at the Secretariat in the afternoon to pacify the agitated Ansar members. The Ansar DG and the advisors then held a meeting with the representatives of the protesting Ansar members. After the meeting, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced that their demands would be met.

Despite this, the Ansar members continued to occupy the Secretariat area. Later in the evening, as students from Dhaka University arrived at the Secretariat to rescue the besieged advisors, the agitated Ansar members launched a sudden attack on the students and hurled bricks and stones at the army patrol assigned to secure the Secretariat. Reports indicate that around fifty students were injured in the clash. To bring the situation under control, additional army forces were deployed in the Secretariat area, which eventually came under military control after 9:30 PM.
