Switzerland Ambassador to Bangladesh Reto Renggli on Tuesday (27 August) said his country sincerely wants to assist Bangladesh in the current situation following the student-people uprising.
"Switzerland really wants to help Bangladesh in the present situation", the envoy said when he called on the interim government's Industries Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan at his office here, according to an official release.
Bangladesh and Switzerland have bilateral trade activities, he said, adding that by creating a level-playing field, the trade activities could be expedited which can play a significant role in the import and export between the two nations.
Switzerland is determined to maintain its bilateral activities with Bangladesh, keeping respect to the aspirations of the student-people uprising, said the envoy.
Industries Ministry's Senior Secretary Zakia Sultana and Additional Secretaries Kamrun Nahar Siddika and Dr Shah Mohammad Helal Uddin, among others, were present during the meeting, said the release.
