Flood death toll reaches 27, affected 5.6 million people: Disaster Advisor

Ongoing floods in Bangladesh have claimed the lives of 27 people across 11 districts so far. Additionally, a total of 5,619,375 people have been affected, according to Faruk E Azam, Advisor to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

During a press conference held on Tuesday (August 27) at the Secretariat to discuss the current flood situation, Faruk E Azam provided this information.

The Disaster Advisor stated that the number of flood-affected districts remains at 11.

In these districts, a total of 5,619,375 people have been impacted, and 1,207,429 families are currently stranded due to flooding. Regarding the fatalities, the advisor noted that 27 individuals have died so far, including 10 in Cumilla, 1 in Feni, 5 in Chattogram, 1 in Khagrachari, 5 in Noakhali, 1 in Brahmanbaria, 1 in Lakshmipur, and 3 in Cox’s Bazar.
