Dengue claims 4 more lives, over 300 admitted to hospitals

In the past 24 hours, four more people have died from dengue across the country, and 346 new patients have been admitted to hospitals.

So far this year, dengue has claimed 83 lives, with a total of 12,841 patients hospitalized.

This information was revealed on Saturday, August 31st, by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the DGHS, currently, 1,333 patients are hospitalized in various government and private hospitals nationwide. Of these, 780 are in Dhaka, while the remaining 553 are in other divisions of the country.

It is noteworthy that in 2023, the country witnessed its worst dengue outbreak in history, with 321,179 cases and 1,705 deaths.
