Police shake-up: 16 DIGs simultaneously made OSD

Sixteen Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of Bangladesh Police have been simultaneously made Officers on Special Duty (OSD) and reassigned to various branches, including the Police Headquarters.

This information was disclosed in a circular issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday, September 1st.

The circular stated that the following officers of the BCS (Police) cadre have been transferred or posted to the designated positions and workplaces. The order, issued in the public interest, will be effective immediately.

The transferred officers include DIG of the Special Branch, AZM Nafiul Islam, and DIG of Police Headquarters, Md. Nisharul Arif, both reassigned to the Anti-Terrorism Unit. Additionally, Additional Director General (DIG) of RAB Headquarters, Imtiaz Ahmed, DIG of SB, Md. Abdul Kuddus Amin, and DIG of Industrial Police, Mohammad Abul Fayez, have been transferred to the River Police.

Meanwhile, DIG of SB, Md. Monirul Islam, has been reassigned to the Anti-Terrorism Unit; DIG of CID, AKM Nahidul Islam, to Police Telecom; DIG Amena Begum of SB to DIG Highway; DIG Md. Monir Hossain of SB to Industrial Police; DIG Md. Azad Mia of Industrial Police to Highway Police; and Md. Moniruzzaman of SB to Rajshahi's BAPTC Sharda.

Furthermore, DIG Md. Jamil Hasan of Highway Police has been transferred to the Anti-Terrorism Unit; DIG Md. Mahbubur Rahman of Metro Rail to the Anti-Terrorism Unit; DIG Shyamal Kumar Nath of CID to the APBN Headquarters in Dhaka; Additional Commissioner SM Mostak Ahmed Khan of DMP to the APBN Headquarters in Dhaka; and DIG Miraj Uddin Ahmed of PBI to Railway Police in Dhaka.
