The interim government has decided to convert Gonobhaban, the official residence of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, into a July Uprising Memorial Museum.

On Thursday, September 5, this decision was made during a meeting of the Advisory Council led by Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

After the meeting, Advisor to the Youth and Sports Ministry, Asif Mahmud, announced the decision at a press conference held at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital. He stated that Gonobhaban will be preserved as it was during the July Uprising and converted into a memorial museum. The Advisory Council made this significant decision during their meeting.

Mahmud mentioned that similar memorials have been established in South Korea and other countries. Inspired by these examples, the Gonobhaban will showcase the actions of the fascist government during that period.

He also announced the formation of a review committee to address garment workers' grievances. This committee will discuss short-term demands of garment workers and will include representatives from garment owners.

Mahmud emphasized that the fascist Awami League will not be rehabilitated in politics. The decision on whether they can return to politics will be up to the people, given their responsibility for the genocide. The decision on their political future will be left to the public.

During the press conference, Mahmud also congratulated all officials, players, and coaches on the victory in the Test series against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.
