Interim Government's Advisor on Post and Telecommunications, Nahid Islam, has stated that the decision regarding the location of the next Prime Minister's residence will be made at a later time after the current Ganabhaban is transformed into a museum.

During a visit to Ganabhaban on September 7, Nahid Islam informed reporters, "The cabinet has already decided to convert Ganabhaban into the 'July Uprising Memorial Museum.' The Ganabhaban, which was won by the people on July 36 or August 5 through significant bloodshed and sacrifice, should be preserved not only in Bangladesh but also as a global monument."

He added, "We will start work next week and aim to complete it quickly for the inauguration. A special committee will be formed, including consultation with domestic and international artists and museum experts."

Nahid Islam also noted, "Ganabhaban is covered with graffiti and wall writings, reflecting public discontent. All the furniture that was looted and later left by people has been preserved. We will try to keep these items as we proceed with the project."

Earlier, on September 5, the Interim Government decided to convert Ganabhaban into the 'July Uprising Memorial Museum.'
