A court today has sent to jail former shipping minister Shajahan Khan in a case lodged over the killing of Abdul Motalib,14, in the capital's Dhanmandi area during the recent Anti-discrimination Student Movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haider passed the order as police produced him before the court after the end of his two out of seven-day remand in the case and pleaded to keep him behind bars till the end of the probe.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Ahmed on 6 September had placed Shajahan Khan, also Awami League presidium member, on a seven-day remand in the case.
Khan was arrested from the capital's Dhanmandi area on 5 September.
