The Metro Rail 6 operationalized its 5th station Wednesday (1 March) , facilitating the people around Mirpur-10 to avail of the train. After opening Pallabi station, the authorities have commissioned Mirpur-10 station for picking up and dropping off passengers. Mrs. Aleya, 40, a commuter of Mirpur 10, bought a ticket from Mirpur 10 to Uttara’s Diabari and seemed very happy getting the ticket.
“I am delighted that the government opened the Mirpur 10 metro rail station as it’s a major section of Mirpur. People can go to Uttara or Agargaon easily within a short time,” said Aleya. She also urged the government to start Mirpur to Motijheel route and open the other significant stations for daylong particular office hours.
On December 28, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the country’s first-ever elevated metro rail service in Dhaka. PM opened the 11.73 km part of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line-6 of the metro rail project from Diabari to Agargaon by unveiling its plaque at Diabari in the city.
Later, the Uttara center station, the fourth station of the country’s first-ever metro rail service, was opened on February 18.
