The UAE Red Crescent, in collaboration with UAE AID, has launched a large-scale relief operation to support over 1,200 families severely impacted by the recent devastating floods in Noakhali and Lakshmipur districts in Bangladesh.

The UAE Aid Office at the UAE Embassy in Bangladesh directly coordinates the initiative to provide assistance to the people badly affected in the area, a press release said.

Each family is being provided with a comprehensive relief package weighing over 71 kilograms, including 50 kgs of rice, 10 kgs of potatoes, 5 liters of oil, 2 kg of sugar, 2 kg of pulses, and 2 kg of salt, along with essential spice packets. This package is designed to ensure food security for the flood-affected families as they are recovering from the disaster.

Local communities have expressed their gratitude for the generous support from the UAE Red Crescent and UAE AID.

The UAE representatives highlighted the strong bond of fraternity and solidarity between the UAE and Bangladesh and showcased the UAE’s fraternal commitment to helping communities in need around the world.
