Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) is working to improve passenger service quality and provide more facilities to expatriates at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan said this when members of Aviation and Tourism Journalist Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB) paid a courtesy call on him at the headquarters of the Civil Aviation on Tuesday.

He said that the airport is now handling passenger traffic well beyond its capacity while the CAAB is making its maximum effort to improve services at the airport, with several new initiatives already in progress.

One of the upcoming services set to be introduced within the next month, is a special lounge on the second floor of the airport's multi-story car park for expatriate passengers, he said.

Moreover, it will offer a space for incoming expatriates to rest and will provide healthy meals at low prices, the CAAB chairman said.

Group Captain Kamrul Islam, also executive director of the airport and ATJFB President Tanzim Anwar, among other members, were present on the occasion.
